The study, published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology , involved 206 patients at the Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, in Wuhan, the Chinese city where the virus first emerged. The patients were classed as having mild COVID -19 cases as they didn't have shortness of breath or respiratory distress, and had a relatively high blood oxygen saturation level.
